Major General Shaukat Sultan, spokesman for the Government, has said that in the provinces of Punjab, NWFP, and Pakistan-Held Kashmir, over 18,000 have died, and over 41,000 have been injured. He says the death-toll may rise to as much as 25,000.
Of course, the major damage has been caused in Kashmir, where over 17,000 have died. Most of the injured are also in Kashmir.
